I find myself intuitively drawn to chairs -- fascinated by the variety of styles and how they are made to contain the human body. Be it upright with wings deflecting sight, or round and cushy for slouching, in many ways chairs reflect our history; how we dressed; how we eat; and, most importantly, how we romanced.
I started drawing small images of chairs - simple because they were always there; an available subject, be it in a waiting room, an airport, or in my home. Whatever chair was in front of me eventually ended up in my sketchbook.
