Have been a Dallas based artist for the last 5 years, and will be relocating to Houston's Old Historic Six Ward in December 2006. I am looking forward to becoming apart of the Houston Art Community. In November 2006, I will be showing at Art on the Avenue and Via Colori.

I create pictures in an effort to fulfill a desire to create and to explore my own sense of self. I love observation, and through my images try to show others how fulfilling it can be.

Through seeing, observing, capturing, and then manipulating I create in my way “found art”. Our observations are who we are. We are creatures of our memories.

The combining of digital images with those of painting, allow me to explore the physical creation of art with the non-physical digital art. This is my struggle and this is my playground – Painting versus Digital Art and the space in between.

My current digital artworks are from a collection contains many digitally created abstract images from words. I use multiple programs when creating my images. Canvas Painter, Photoshop, Picture It, Deep Paint, Publisher, and Illustrator are a few that I use. I start with a typed or handwritten word, then alter that word using filters, layers, and cutting up the word —after many steps (50-500 steps) I get to a point where I think the image is finished, but now reflects the essence of the word. Next I decide the size and print it out on water resistant canvas using an Epson 9800 Large Format printer, using Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. After two days of curing the prints they are then stretched on to the wood bars for hanging. My works on canvas are editions of one. I believe that each image should be like a unique painting. I will not print another image on canvas that same size or using those exact colors.

I am now exploring printing my digital creations on other materials and fabrics. In addition I am combining my acrylic painting with my digital work on canvas.
